Williams Secures Funding To Help The Homeless at Christmas

The NSW Government is supporting two local charitable groups with $2000 each to help feed the homeless in Port Macquarie and Laurieton on Christmas Day.

Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said the financial assistance being provided will help the Camden Haven Community @3 group and the Port City Church to bring Christmas cheer to the needy in our community.

“This is fantastic news for these two valued community organisation helping to support those less fortunate.

“In the Camden Haven, Christmas lunch will be provided for the homeless at North Haven Beach, while in Port Macquarie lunch is being served at Town Beach.

“These generous one-off grants will go a long way to lift the spirits of people in need,” Mrs Williams said.

“Often relatively small sums of money can make a disproportionately big difference to local community organisations like the Port City Church and the Camden Haven Community @3 group so I’m delighted to announce these two grants.

“The support for local volunteer groups is a key priority for the NSW Government.

“I want to congratulate and recognise the tireless work of the volunteers helping out this Christmas and thank them for their ongoing efforts to support the local community,” Mrs Williams said.
