Williams Opens Bonny Hills Holiday Park
More than $1.7 million in refurbishment costs of the Bonny Hills Holiday Park were officially opened this afternoon by the Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams.
The park on the headland at Bonny Hills operated by the NSW Crown Holiday Parks Trust has undergone significant improvements over the past year.
“This is a perfect location for a holiday and now with the upgrade of facilities and panoramic ocean views I am sure it will continue to be a popular destination,” Mrs Williams said.
“Improvements include a new amenities building, new cabins, beach tents, a new camp kitchen as well as a new coastal walkway and BBQ shelter and pathways.
“Funding for the project came from a combination of loans from the Public Reserve Management Fund as well as revenue from Trust assets.
“The revamp of the park is a tremendous boost to local tourism.
“This is the second local park enhancement I have opened in the past month which reflects confidence in our local tourism sector.
“The Mid North Coast has a range of holiday accommodation catering for every budget.
“Speaking with local tourism operators this year is looking particularly good in terms of visitor numbers with many people opting for shorter stays,” Mrs Williams said.
“If we can continue to attract people from the Hunter Valley and Sydney who can easily be on the Mid North Coast in three or four hours we will definitely see benefits to the tourism market locally.
“Short stay holidays are increasing and locations like the Bonny Hills Holiday Park are perfect getaway destinations.
“Congratulations to the NSW Crown Holiday Parks Trust for having the vision and dedication to undertake these improvements to the Bonny Hills park and I wish them every success in the future,” Mrs Williams said.
