Local Police Officers Honoured With Awards

Last week I had the pleasure of representing the Premier by attending a ceremony at Government House to honour the recipients of the Queen’s Birthday Honours as well as the presentation of Bravery Awards, Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said today.

“Two such recipients from the Port Macquarie electorate were on hand to receive their awards.

“Mid North Coast Local Area Commander, Superintendent Paul Fehon received his Australian Police Medal for his 36 years serving in the NSW Police Force.

“Laurieton based police officer, Senior Constable Michael Dietrich was presented with a Bravery Award for rescuing two people and their dogs form dangerous flooding in 2013.

“It was indeed an honour to be at the ceremony as NSW Governor, his Excellency David Hurley presented Paul and Michael with their awards.

“They are two very fine police officers who always go above and beyond in the line of duty to protect our community. They are both well deserving of their awards and it was an honour to attend the presentation,” Mrs Williams said.
