Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams and Hastings Combined Seniors will stage a free concert during next week’s Seniors Festival with support from the NSW Government.
Mrs Williams said the $5,000 financial assistance would help to stage the free concert at Port Panthers on Friday 10th March.
“This Government grant will allow the Hastings Combined Seniors to offer the concert for a third year, providing entertainment and enjoyment to as many as 650 local seniors.
“The concert is a great community event, with performances by local artists, who give freely of their time to entertain our seniors.
“This year we have some wonderful performers including the U3A dancers, the Z Chords Uke Group, Sing Australia, Adam and the Antiques and Jonathon Peebles’ The Kat In the Hat.
“The grant will enable Hastings Combined Seniors to engage professional production services for the concert, as well as providing a free morning tea for seniors.
“I’m delighted that the Government is providing this grant to such an important community organisation in our region,” Mrs Williams said.
Hastings Combined Seniors President, Brian Buckett said, “The past two years have seen more than 1,200 people attend the shows which have been hugely successful and I am looking forward to this year’s event.”
Tickets for the Seniors Concert are available from Port Panthers. Doors open at 9.45am with a free morning tea 10am. The concert will commence at 10.30.
