Improvement Work On Pacific Highway Near Herons Creek
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Pacific Highway near Herons Creek for essential maintenance work at the Bago Road intersection.
Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said work would be carried out between 7am and 6pm on November 29 and 30 as part of a $2.8 million resurfacing project.
“The southbound lanes of the Pacific Highway between Stills Road and the Herons Creek bridge, south of Port Macquarie, will be resurfaced to improve safety and reduce ongoing maintenance costs,” Mrs Williams said.
“Work will also be completed on the southbound on and off ramps, with the upgrade expected to be completed mid December, weather permitting.”
“The ramps will be closed and detours will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and road users. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time,” Mrs Williams said.
“Southbound motorists needing to exit the Pacific Highway at Bago Road are advised to continue to Miles Drive to make a U-turn for access to the northbound off ramp at Bago Road.
“Motorists requiring access to the Pacific Highway southbound from the Bago Road intersection will need to use the northbound on ramp and travel north to the Oxley Highway interchange to travel south,” Mrs Williams said.
Electronic message signs are on site to advise motorists of the changed traffic conditions.
Motorists are advised to follow all signs and the direction of traffic controllers.
